OpenFOAM
OpenFOAM is an open-source C++ toolbox for continuum mechanics, best known for its CFD solvers. It provides a large family of solvers and utilities, extensive turbulence and multiphase models, and a highly customizable case structure.
Why it matters for physics AI: Most public CFD datasets are produced with OpenFOAM, so replicating data generation pipelines and validating surrogate predictions against a trusted solver is straightforward.
