SKF CAD Models

Provider:SKF

SKF offers free CAD (native 3D / neutral 3D / 2D) across eight bearing, seal and lubrication categories with extractable mass, but officially warns geometry is not precise and dimensions must come from its site.

Rationale
3D/2D CAD for bearings, bearing units, housings, industrial seals, couplings and lubrication systems with extractable mass properties; total geometry is not guaranteed precise, dimensions must come from the SKF site, and friction or duty parameters are absent — hence L1.
Scale
Covers eight product categories: rolling bearings, bearing units, bearing housings, super-precision bearings, plain bearings, industrial seals, couplings and lubrication systems; each product page offers native 3D, neutral 3D and 2D downloads. (Product categories and format notes from SKF's official CAD information page; SKF publishes no total model count, so coverage is stated by category. Checked 2026-10-25.)
License
Proprietary but free — CAD models are free and intended for selecting and designing with SKF products. SKF states explicitly that models are not necessarily precise in total geometry and follow the dimensions published on its website; do not measure dimensions off the model when designing adjacent components; no liability is accepted for loss or damage arising from use of the models. Lubrication system components are additionally offered through an online configurator built on CADENAS eCATALOGsolutions.

Why it is listed

Rotating equipment in any machine twin needs bearing geometry, and SKF is the default source: the CAD download is wired into every product page rather than living behind a separate catalog application.

Readiness assessment

Eight product categories are covered and each product page offers native 3D, neutral 3D and 2D downloads, so STEP-level geometry with extractable mass is available — that is L1. SKF's own caveat matters more than usual here: the models are not guaranteed precise in total geometry and follow only the published dimensions, and the vendor accepts no liability for loss arising from their use. Friction, load ratings and duty-cycle parameters are separate engineering data, not part of the asset.

Practical notes

Reach a product page by designation search, by drilling down the category menu, or via the PRODUCTS tab with filters, then open the CAD tab. Never dimension an adjacent shaft or housing by measuring the downloaded model; always take dimensions from the SKF product table. If a model is missing or you need a customised variant, contact your local SKF representative.

For lubrication systems, components can be configured and downloaded either on the product pages or through the dedicated CAD portal, which builds on CADENAS eCATALOGsolutions technology.
