Ansys Verification Manuals
Provider:Ansys (now part of Synopsys)
Ansys verification manuals provide hundreds of test cases with full input data and reference solutions, downloadable per release to verify solver results locally.

- Rationale
- Engineering L3: Mechanical APDL / Workbench / Fluids verification manuals ship full input data and reference solutions; project files are downloadable per release from the Customer Portal, ready to run for environment verification.
- Scale
- Hundreds of verification test cases (VM1–VM322+), spanning structural, fluids, explicit dynamics and multiphysics, published annually per release (Ansys Help verification manuals are updated yearly by product; 2025 R1 Mechanical APDL added VM322/VM323; project files publish per release on the Customer Portal. Ansys has merged with Synopsys and the official entry point moved to ansys.synopsys.com; the former ansyshelp.ansys.com returned 404 when checked on 2026-10-25. Checked 2026-10-25.)
- License
- Proprietary but free — Verification manuals and cases ship with Ansys software for solver-result verification in your environment; commercial Ansys use needs a license and project-file download needs a Customer Portal account.

Why it is listed
The Ansys Verification Manuals are the gold standard for FEA/CFD result verification: each test case demonstrates a solution against exact calculations or published benchmarks, covering structural statics, fluids, explicit dynamics and coupled physics.
Readiness assessment
Every case ships the input data and reference output, so you can re-run it in your own computing environment and confirm you obtain the same numbers Ansys obtained — a true L3 drop-in for verification, not just a narrative example.
Practical notes
Project files for all test cases are released per product version on the Ansys Customer Portal, hence the gated access; an Ansys license is still required to actually solve the cases. Note that Ansys has merged with Synopsys and documentation now lives at ansys.synopsys.com; the older ansyshelp.ansys.com host is dead.
